Over the last few months, ambitious founders from across Glasgow and the West of Scotland have come together as part of Techscaler Mastermind, a programme built for founders who have already gained traction and are ready for what comes next.
Delivered in partnership with the Scottish Asian Business Chamber, an organisation supporting minority, ethnically diverse founders and business professionals, the Techscaler Mastermind programme brings together curated cohorts of founders who are navigating the crucial moment between early traction and unlocking the next stage of growth.
Through invite-only sessions, founders have been getting into the real challenges of scaling a company, covering everything from commercial growth to investment readiness. These exclusive sessions have been supported by experienced founders, operators, and Techscaler Entrepreneurs in Residence, giving those in the room real, practical insights and mentorship.
With four sessions complete and one still to come, this is a look back at what the programme has been and who it’s brought into the room.
What the programme provides for founders
Visibility can be a significant barrier for founders at the growth stage. Building the right networks and getting in front of the right investors takes time that most scaling founders simply don’t have. The Mastermind programme is addressing this directly, using structured profiling and facilitated introductions to connect founders with the right people, faster.
Founders are also onboarded as full Techscaler members, opening up access to the wider Scottish startup ecosystem and the broader support infrastructure that Techscaler provides. Alongside that, participants gain honest and practical conversations with founders navigating comparable challenges, something that is hard to find anywhere else.

The sessions so far
Session 1: Hannah Mercer, Founder of DragonflAI, opened the programme with insight on MVP development, investment strategy, and community building.
Session 2: Andrew McGinley, Founder of Hosel. Having raised £9M and exited CareSourcer in 2023, Andrew gave founders an honest look at what scaling and exiting actually looks like from the inside.
Session 3: Usman Sikander, President of the Scottish Asian Business Chamber and founder of Energy Prices Direct, brought a commercial lens to exploring growth strategy, client relationships, and building a lasting business.
Session 4: Michael Dean, Former Managing Director at Dentons, explored the legal complexities founders need to get ahead of as they scale, including IP, legal strategy, and navigating complex environments at pace.
Don’t miss the last session
The final session of this cohort wraps up on Thursday, 28th May, with founder and experienced business owner Suhail Rehman of the SUR Group. In this session, founders will hear about franchising, growth, and business development from someone with a wealth of real-world experience and years of insight from building businesses.

The Techscaler Mastermind programme has shown what structured support can do for founders ready to scale. Through collaboration with the Scottish Asian Business Chamber, we’ve been able to reach and support a wider and more diverse range of founders looking to scale, strengthening links between community networks and Scotland’s startup ecosystem. With more cohorts planned, this is just the beginning.
