Scotland's Innovation Week 2025 is here, celebrating our nation's proud legacy of world-changing discoveries while showcasing how today's innovators are shaping the future. From the colour photograph to penicillin, from Dolly the sheep to cutting-edge satellite technology, Scotland has consistently been at the forefront of global innovation.
This week-long Scottish Government initiative brings together innovators, entrepreneurs, and leading experts to demonstrate how Scotland continues to pioneer the transformative technologies and industries of tomorrow. As the Scottish Government's tech startup support programme, delivered by CodeBase, Techscaler sits at the heart of this innovation ecosystem – supporting the next generation of founders who are writing Scotland's innovation story.
Taking Innovation to Market: Five Techscaler Founders at ScotSoft
Thanks to our partner ScotlandIS, Techscaler is taking five startups to ScotSoft, one of Scotland's biggest software conferences for over 25 years. This full-day event for technical professionals and leaders in the sector provides the perfect platform for our founders to connect, learn, and showcase their solutions to Scotland's thriving tech community. Each founder represents a different facet of how Scottish innovation is tackling real-world challenges across diverse sectors.

Shuli Yu - Yush
Shuli has a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and a B.Sc. in Information Systems. In London, she led a small product team at Judge.me, helping it grow into the #1 reviews platform on the Shopify app store with over 400K users. After moving to Edinburgh, she founded Yush, a mobile-first platform that captures and transforms live sentiments at events into insights and social proof. "I'm also used to being overlooked, which is probably why I'm obsessed with making sure people's voices count," says Shuli. "Yush is my way of ensuring that everyone's feedback is seen, heard, and actually useful, without boring surveys or tedious forms."
Douglas Boler - Fennex
Douglas Boler is a Data Scientist at Fennex, a digital solutions company based in Aberdeen. For the past two years, he's been building AI solutions for clients in the offshore oil and gas sector. Starting with machine learning models to tackle complex operational challenges, Douglas now focuses on creating agentic AI systems that deliver real-time insights and decision support. His goal is to turn data into practical tools that improve safety, efficiency, and performance for teams working in high-risk environments – showcasing how AI innovation is transforming traditional Scottish industries.
Matthew Cairns - Reactions
Matthew co-founded Reactions, an AI platform designed to support people living with moderate to severe allergies. The platform allows users to log and track symptoms, identify potential triggers, and explore personalised strategies to reduce allergic reactions. Reactions leverages AI to help users understand which data is most valuable to track and analyses long-term user data to generate reports containing educational insights about potential symptom triggers and practical mitigation steps – demonstrating how Scottish innovation is making healthcare more accessible and personalised.
