Introducing the 2026 Autumn Catalyst Cohort

We’re excited to announce that this Autumn, 100 early-stage Scottish founders will be joining Techscaler’s Catalyst programme. 

Across nine weeks through structured sessions and operator-led support, they'll be diving into the key fundamentals that will help to move their startup forward. More than just an educational course, Catalyst serves as their launchpad into a lasting network of peers, expert mentors and ecosystem opportunities that will extend far beyond the programme itself. 

‍What the founders will get: 

The nine week programme includes eight core workshops, from problem discovery through to marketing strategy and revenue experimentation. By the end, founders will be able to:

• Define their startup's ambition, vision and mission
• Test customer needs and early assumptions through Jobs-to-Be-Done discovery and low-cost experiments
• Build a prototype, from wireframes to an MVP
• Find and grow early customers, and shape a viable commercial model
• Use AI tools to work faster and make better early-stage decisions

About the 2026 Autumn cohort:

The Autumn 2026 Catalyst cohort spans a wide range of sectors, from AI and deep tech to health, industrial, and consumer, reflecting the breadth of areas where demand for practical technology is growing. Among them, the 100 companies are building everything from steam measurement software for distilleries to AI governance tools, palm-vein payments, wildfire preparedness planning for land managers and much more.

Most founders in this year's cohort have a working product and are now looking to gain their first customers. Their biggest challenges range from finding the right buyer, testing what they'll pay, to building a repeatable way to sell. Many are also solo founders who need to fill gaps in their team and are working out how to prepare for a first raise. What they're setting themselves up to gain from Catalyst is weekly accountability, honest challenges from experienced operators and other founders, and connections into Scotland's startup and investor community. 

A look at our Catalyst Alumni: 

Catalyst is just the starting line; here’s a look at how previous cohorts have turned nine weeks of support into major growth and international expansion. 

Husu, founded by Dr Shamaas Mohamed and Dr Ffion Hargood, is a workplace wellbeing platform that helps accounting firms catch burnout before it costs them people. Through Techscaler Catalyst, they worked with mentors on pricing and go-to-market, then took a stand at London Tech Week. Today Husu has:

• Won the Young EDGE award and £10,000 through Scottish EDGE Round 27
• Preparing to launch as a standalone SaaS platform ahead of expansion into North America and Australia

Steven Clarke is the founder of Nuuri, which helps families find and enrol in nurseries across the UK. He started with no tech background, after struggling to find a nursery place as a new father. Since joining Techscaler and taking part in Catalyst, Nuuri has:

• Launched in Edinburgh, expanded into England and closed a major funding round
• Continued to work with the mentor Steven was paired with early in the programme

XYNQ, co-founded by Leo Fakhrul and Ziyad Al-Harthy, builds fraud and compliance technology to help music platforms catch fake and AI-generated uploads. After their own record label was hit by an impersonation attack, they joined Techscaler Catalyst to refine their model, leverage founder resources, and work closely with EIR mentors to turn early momentum into validated customer LOIs. Today, XYNQ has:

• Won the Wild Card category and £15,000 at Scottish EDGE Round 27, alongside securing an initial £50,000 angel round
• Exhibited with the Techscaler cohort at London Tech Week 2026, opening up a pipeline of demand across both music and finance
